Abstract
Completely edentulous ridge or Kennedy classification II type defect in mandible is one of the most difficult conditions for use of conventional surgical stent for dental implant installation. The functions and esthetics of implant supported fixed dentures mainly depends on the location of the implant. As a result, increasing attention should be given to precise implant installation. However, due to the limitations of bone mass and mandibular anatomy, adequate measures are necessary to improve accuracy in conventional surgical stent use. The use of surgical guide templates with mini-implant can achieve higher precision and accuracy in implant installation. We present a series of cases of surgical guide templates with mini-implant and discuss methods for more precise implant installation in the mandible.
